Hello PATH School Families,
Our school year has gotten off to a great start. We are so excited to have scholars back in the building and working really hard. This week most of our scholars received their computers and are beginning to dive in to some online learning. Next week, we’ll begin our beginning of the year assessments, and next Friday, scholars should receive their first homework assignments of the year.
Last week, I sent home a letter from the Marion County Health Department about COVID-19. We want to make sure we are doing everything possible to keep your children safe as we continue to combat this virus.
With that in mind, we have a few things we are asking of each of you.
- If your child is sick, please keep him/her home.
- If your child has a fever, please do not give him/her medicine and send him/her to school. Please keep him/her home.
- If you child is coughing, has a runny nose and/or is sneezing, please keep him/her home.
- If your child is having trouble breathing, please keep him/her home.
If your child comes to school with any of these symptoms, for the safety of all of our children, we will send your child home.
Furthermore, if your child comes in contact with someone who is exhibiting COVID symptoms, we will contact you to pick him/her up and request that your child be tested for COVID-19. If your child comes in contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, as mandated by Indiana State Law, your child will be required to quarantine for at least 10 days.
We are making every effort to keep everyone safe. Our classrooms are being sprayed three days each week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). All teachers have Microban and Lysol wipes in their classrooms. Anyone in our building is required to wear a mask at all times. And, we are having children wash their hands multiple times per day. Let’s all be extremely careful as cases increase across the country. Let’s continue to protect ourselves and our community.
