Transportation
We understand that bus information is crucial at the start of the school year. Please read below for more details. Scholars who reside in IPS Zones 1 map will receive free public school transportation. The scholar's address in PowerSchool determines all stops. If you are unsatisfied with your bus information, please call IPS Transportation at 317-226-4000. At this time, the school is not able to switch any bus routes, bus numbers, or bus times.
What are IPS’ school zones?
IPS has four zones that determine a student’s eligibility for bus service based on their residence. Please refer to the RBS School Zones Map to review the zone map.
What classifies my child as a walker?
A scholar is classified as a walker if they meet the following conditions:
● For grades K-5: the scholar who lives 1 mile or less from their school
● For grades 6-8: the scholar who lives 1.25 miles or less from their school
In rare situations where the distance ends in the middle of a block, the boundary will extend to the end of that block to avoid confusion for families (e.g., apartment complexes).
What if my child needs transportation due to health concerns?
If you need a bus due to a medical condition, please bring an up-to-date doctor's note to the office.
